The bug net was hand-sewn on the trail with blue thread, then later I machine-sewed it with black Mara 70 thread, the fly I machine-sewed with black Mara 70 thread and a strip of 5.0oz Dyneema, but I did NOT re-seal it, for me this tear was low enough on the fly that I never needed to re-seal it, but if you want this tear to be waterproof again then it will need some tape thrown on it. One side of the tent got much more sun than the other side, so there is a slight color difference on the outer fly now. Warbonnet Blackbird hammock 2019 15.75oz w/ straps : 150$ shipped - amazing product from Warbonnet, never had a single problem with this hammock, fabric is a single-layer of 40D Dream-tex Nylon, straps are UHMWPE spider-web straps 12ft long each. MYOG Pack ~36L brand new (Ultra 200, Venom stretch, w/ frame) 611.5g : 220$ shipped - I made and tested many myog packs recently, this is an extra one I have that has never been used. The pack has a remove-able hip belt w/ dyneema stretch pockets, remove-able shoulder straps w/ dyneema stretch pockets, an AL 7075 frame, pack body is Ultra 200 w/ Venom stretch pockets, and it's fully seam-taped. I'm selling this much cheaper than it's worth for multiple reasons: the buyer has to take a risk when they buy a home-made pack off of reddit, you have no guarantee of my sewing skills (I double/triple stitch every single seam with Mara 70 thread, I flat-fell the big seams, but you don't have any guarantee that my stitching will hold up like you do when you buy from say, SWD), I also was experimenting with the design on this so I threw in some uncommon features like: a G-hook hip belt strap instead of a buckle, "back compression" straps, remove-able shoulder straps, etc. I also made one mistake on the sewing on this where the big front pocket has a little excess fabric hanging off (a purely aesthetic mistake). I have made packs identical to this that I have used for many months and have not had problems with them, but with that being said, you still have no guarantee that my design-decisions will hold up and so I'll give the buyer 1-week to return this if it's not for you. The one I am looking at is low mileage and I drive about 30 miles each way for work. I love my Subaru but have to give it up because the AC is basically unfixable. We live in Florida but want to be able to drive it in the mountains and take it on road trips. Thoughts on this car?
Good Evening/Morning for some! I have a 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid, was going to drive it this evening to drop off a pet to its owners, but my car would not unlock the doors, nor show its lights when using the key fob and was giving off a ticking noise under the hood. I had not driven it in a couple days do to being off of work. Essentially automatically thought it was my battery. Called Roadside through my insurance, sent someone to assist me with my concerns, had to use a jimmy to get into the car because of now power, cant unlock it. Was able to get in and pop the hood, was able to give me a jump and was told to sit for about a half hour. Now I am unsure if its the 12V in my trunk or the battery under the hood, if I could kindly get a professional opinion on which one it might be, and how much it would run me, and where it could be done, greatly appreciate it, hope everyone has a great day!
Hidden and undisclosed GPS tracker found in my 2019 Kia Niro Hybrid
It seems that Kia of Austin ( all dealerships ) have been putting GPS+Cellular trackers in every car they sell, without disclosing it to customers, for years. I was investigating a dangling wire I found in the car, and found this little gadget attached to the main 12V wiring of my 2019 Kia Niro Hybrid. It was installed with an inline fuse, and a "clamp-on" tap in a stupidly obvious place that shouldn't be used if the point is to hide it from thieves or the owners of the car. I did my homework on GPS trackers to determine the model number and which network this one was on. It wasn't the "big three" of LoJack, OnStar, or LoneStar. It was on the "GoldStar" network... a smaller network that uses cheaper GPS LTE trackers. So, after a call into Kia in Austin, I was told it was a "Zero-dollar" item they add to every car. They activate it for people with low credit scores and integrate it into the vehicle ignition OR just leave it active for "high value/high theft" cars as a line item when they sell it ("Anti-theft tracking device") Since April 2019, this little "bug" has been tracking and reporting the whereabouts of my car without my knowledge, or permission. ** I was never informed of the device and I never signed up for the service. It wasn't anywhere in the paperwork I took home ** The only record of its existence was in the dealer inventory paperwork from 2019. So, when you buy a car ... from ANY KIA DEALER ... ask if they have installed a GPS tracking device in the car. If you want to have it, with full consent and knowledge, good. If you don't, have them remove it. Tracking cars WITHOUT the knowledge or consent of the owner though, while ** technically legal in Texas ** is ethically garbage. https://i.imgur.com/Rzd8H7g.jpg
Would it be worth trading in my Ford Puma (2020) for a Hyundai Ioniq (2019)?
I'm paying £275 per month for the Puma but I hardly ever drive anymore since I work from home, cycle to work and don't have any kids. I still want to own a car because I enjoy the freedom and need it sometimes for visiting parents, groceries, etc. But I want one that's less expensive, more economical (full hybrid) and reliable. A Hyundai Ioniq would be £100 less per month, better mpg and are apparently reliable since they're popular with Taxi drivers.
